Professional photographer Daniel J. Cox of Natural Exposures is working with us to document and archive still and video footage of the changes taking place in the Arctic, which have a global impact.

The Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else on the planet, bringing profound changes to the ecosystem. The project will help preserve this Arctic record for future generations and bring about awareness of the extraordinary changes taking place in the North.
The project includes both present-day footage and that collected decades ago by Polar Bears International founder Dan Guravich. All materials are available to our Arctic Ambassador Centers and other educational outlets worldwide, free of charge. This is a massive undertaking, but one we feel is vital in educating others.

Meet Daniel J. Cox
ADP Director Daniel J. Cox has dedicated his life to documenting nature and conservation. As a professional photographer and journalist, his 30-year resume brings these stories to such prestigious publications as National Geographic, National Wildlife Federation, BBC, Audubon, Sierra Club, The Journal Nature, and Time.
Additionally, speaking engagements for the ADP have put him in front of audiences for Nikon, Hewlett Packard, and Apple.

Daniel's first experience in the Arctic was with Dan Guravich in 1987. In 2004, he was invited to join the Polar Bears International Advisory Council and has been dedicating 50 percent of his time volunteering for Polar Bears International ever since. His work with Polar Bears International includes the first-ever icebreaker expedition to study polar bears deep within the Arctic ice pack of the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. His other projects for Polar Bears International include yearly documentation of Polar Bears International's educational programs and outreach.

Polar Bears International Multimedia Library
The Polar Bears International Multimedia Library began with the donated still images of Dan Guravich, a professional photographer and founder of Polar Bears Alive, the nonprofit that later became Polar Bears International. Guravich's legacy lives on through his passion for the Arctic evident in the still photography he began shooting in the 1950s. His visual record of the North is now the main foundation of the ADP. All of Guravich's images, along with new materials produced by the ADP, will be available free of charge to anyone interested in the Arctic if they qualify for Polar Bears International's nonprofit media program.
